APS presentations next week

Princeton posted ad for postdoc hire, Uchicago held interviews this week

BIB Slicing

Would need to oversample certain regions of accelerator lattice (Z) to characterize high occupancy.

Separate process, we populate much of HCAL with muons that come in from the side of the detector, need to look into that

GenAI

Investigating hurdles related to detector element, possible conditioning on layer

Find additional personpower (student) and/or collaboration (Brown/LBL)

Set a weekly meeting time

FLUKA/G4

purely command line interactions now, not GUI

useful tutorial was at the GGI workshop, possibly recorded

is there any concern about putting FLUKA in a container because of licensing? ask larry. currently using docker, want to make it more friendly to OSG

BIB rejection with AI

Plan to set aside dedicated time to brainstorm ideas for topics to pursue together

Get someone from industry to give a tutorial on synthesis?

General action items:

Write down common meeting times

Do we want to use Claude? Get licenses? Fermilab should have some open source models with Fermi services account

Think about what would make these meetings most useful. Feedback from the leads is great, but we want them to be valuable to everyone
